Movin' Around
From a week in Mattapoisett to Hadley Harbor to Cuttyhunk to Newport to Wickford RI..... As we expected, the Cuttyhunk anchorage was quite tight. What we weren't expecting was a squall coming through and turning us 180 degrees. Unfortunately, it happened at night, and we dragged. It was challenging to reanchor and stay clear of other boats (that were reanchoring too!). But, we did it with no damage! After a walk of the island next morning, we decided to sail to Newport. We anchored north of Goat Island and enjoyed a couple of days of exploring the town. Visited "The Breakers", a mansion built in the "Guilded Age". We also enjoyed the International Yacht Restoration School. The luxury schooner, Coronet; built in the late 1800s is being rebuilt(literally piece by piece) there. We also had great roasted corn & crab chowder at the "Smokehouse Cafe"! On Saturday, we left Newport - on to Wickford, RI to pick up a friend's mooring ball for a couple of days. Yesterday we spent the whole day on "Kismet", because it rained all day! That was a rare event.
