Anchoring in Sodus Bay

July 27, 2008
We have spent the last few days anchored in the Bay changing our plans from day to day. We are here because we wanted to avoid the craziness in Oswego (Harborfest) but also because my Dad is declining daily. Don't want to start out if I need to fly down to Fort Lauderdale anytime now. If we leave for the canal by mid August that will be fine. Lots of severe thunderstorms, but today was a beautiful day. Perfect breeze 9-14 knots. Went sailing with Ray and Susan Hall. Jim had to rescue Susan and Sharon L. this morning with Robert's dinghy; they ran out of gas or something else. Thornton point where we are anchored is a beautiful spot; very secure and lots of friends hang out here. Hoping that Dad is comfortable and peaceful.
