Arrival in Port Jefferson NY - North Shore Long Island

After stopping in Cape May for one night, we went to Atlantic City. Thought we would be there for a night or two; but Dick & Jan on "Cambia" arrived & we played in AC for a week! Got to do the Boardwalk & Casinos - what a different experience! With the help of Dick & Jan; we learned more about playing the machines. On our last day in the casino, Laurie won $80.00! You would have thought she won a million with her excitement! Jim had no luck at all. On Saturday, 6/19, we thought we planned for the perfect wind to go the rest of the way up the Jersey Coast - south winds 10 - 15; 2 foot waves. Turned out to be more downwind than we would have liked, but it was a good trip anyway. Took us 14 hours to get into Atlantic Highlands - we were there by 1930. On the way we saw a whale off Manasquan Inlet. Spent one day in the Highlands; doing laundry and having a farewell dinner with "Cambia" at the Memphis Pig Out Restaurant. Left at 1000 on 6/21 to ride the current up the East River, through HellGate (at 10 knots) and into Long Island Sound. It couldn't have been a more beautiful day! We picked up a mooring ball (free) in Port Washington for the night, and then off again towards Port Jefferson where we will be staying awhile to visit the O'Sheas.

Did you happen to see the S/V Blue Moon in her new home - a mooring ball in Port Washington?
