"The Lioness Has Passed"

On July 31, 2010, Jeanne C. O'Shea left this earthly world, peacefully & comfortably. Sons, Jim & John, and I were at her side, at the Port Jefferson Healthcare Facility. At 89, she lived a rich life, filled with traveling adventures to all parts of the world. A fiercefully independent woman, she lived in her beloved home in Point Lookout, NY until 2 months before she died. We were fortunate to be with her for her for the past 6 weeks.

Dear Jim and Laurie,
Thanks for calling today to share your sad news. I found this blog on your boatcard, looking for your mailing address. The passing of a loved one is sad, regardless of the circumstances. My heart goes out to you. Hope to cross paths soon.
Love from Pam and Frank aboard s/v Blackfoot

To Jim and Laurie:

Just catching-up on your blog. We are very sorry to hear about your mom. It is good that she went quickly, and did not spend too much time in an assisted living facility, after being able to live on her own for so many years. They can be pretty disagreeable for many.

Sounds like she was a very spirited person, and loved life.

Laurie, have a good visit with you mom and sister.

We did not make our cruise out the St. Lawrence this summer, and have not decided yet, if we will head south in September. Will let you know.

Take care,
Jim and Joyce, Tranquility II

Dear Jim and Laurie

As you can tell, we have not read your blog in a while. Busy sailing on Lake Ontario and spending time in the ADK Mts. We were sorry to learn of your Mom's passing. Hope you are both well and will be heading south soon.
