Enjoying The Portsmouth VA Area

For the past week or so we have slowly made our way up to Norfolk/Portsmouth VA. We spent a couple of days in Elizabeth City, NC at the free town docks, a night at the Visitors Center in the Dismal Swamp, another night at Elizabeth's Dock by the Deep Creek Lock, and then two nights at the South Ferry Landing Dock in Portsmouth, VA. We enjoyed a wonderful night going to the Commodore Theater. It is the oldest "Dinner & a Movie" theaters in the country - truly an elegant experience. You are seated at your own table with a telephone that you use to make your dinner choice, and then enjoy the movie. We saw the Julia Roberts movie, "Mirror, Mirror" - an updated Snow White theme. The theater is beautiful; a must do! It is also quite reasonable - tickets were $5.00! Today we sailed (yes, actually sailed), 11 miles to Old Point Comfort to anchor for the night, before we head to Deltaville, VA tomorrow - our last stop of the season! We will haul out there for three months while we do some land traveling.

The dinner theatre sounds great! It reminds me of the place we went to in FL. Adam and I use our "Top O' Mast" cups almost every day still. Can't wait to show you guys the fun things to do around Spokane!

We will try to make it to the theater also. Sounds like tons of fun.
